Initial Post
Here we are - after many false starts - we've taken the plunge and decided to transcribe our random discussions ranging from our season passes ( I have 25 season passes) to our running escapades.
There are two of us, Tony or TC as we like to call him and me. Who am I? Well, in two words, Joe Dito.
So, bear with us as we try to figure this stuff all out. I think we both can post to this site - but if not, then we'll have to figure something else out.
BFFL comes from TC - stands for Best Friends For Life. TC and I met back in 2002 while we both trained for a marathon with Team in Training. More on Team in Training in another post. Tony and I really didn't hit it off right off the bat. He was overly confident of his marathon abilities even though this was his first attempt. But like a good bottle of wine as I aged, I grew to love TC.
Wave7runners is also an offshoot from our Team in Training days too. Back when I was training with the team, the coaches would break up the runners into different waves. The goal was to have all of us runners complete the long runs at approximately the same time, so, the slow and steady group would go out in wave 1 all the way to wave 6 which was reserved for the super fast runners. The nice thing about being in wave 6 was you got to start much later than the rest of the group, hence you got to sleep in.
TC was never in Wave 6 - he was a Wave 5 runner (I was a 6) but TC loves to sleep in. When we decided to form an alumni group after our TnT days, we looked for a name and TC said, hey, why don't we call ourselves Wave7 not because we are fast, but TC loves to sleep in on the weekends and start his runs around 9ish. That was the of genesis our name.
