Prison Break: Wash

I love the complexity of the characters on this show. They each have some conflicting force in their psyche that makes it hard to predict which way they'll land in a given situation.

Let's start with Kellerman... He seems to have a serious love/hate relationship going with the President. At one point, he was totally dedicated to her. Since then, he has realized that she considers him expendable. His obsession with her could still sway him to turn back into her lapdog, but at the moment, he is feeling so betrayed that his love has turned to pure hatred. He never had any real emotion about Burrows and Scofield, so it is hard to say who his enemies are at any given point. At the moment, it is clearly the president.

Next we have Bellick... He has been hired as the "hound" for Mahone. He is angry that Scofield cost him his job. He is angry that he lost the money. He is angry that he got picked up for murdering his partner. He is angry that he got beat up in jail. He is angry that Mahone seems to be controlling him. He is angry that he hasn't gotten paid. He is angry that Mahone doesn't treat him with respect. He isn't really conflicted, he's just pissed off... at everything and everybody. He just wants one good thing to happen to him. Whoever can make that good thing happens will earn his efforts for the moment.

Finally we have Mahone... He has always been between a rock and a hard place. A basically dedicated Fed at one time, he did something that put him at the mercy of the people running this conspiracy. He has worked for them because of the leverage they have and the fact that they seemed to have a righteous goal: the capture of a convicted killer. Since then, he has decided that being blackmailed was not a good enough reason to do what he was doing and the Puppeteers threatened his family. Then he has been pushed into killing the felons. He was marginally OK with that because they were felons. Now he suspects that Burrows is innocent and that this whole thing may be a big conspiracy. His actions are not in question just because he may be after an innocent man, but because if Burrows is innocent, then it would not be difficult for him to realize that he will be expendable when all of the convicts are dead...

These last few episodes will be hard to predict but worth tuning in for!

Prison Break: The Killing Box

And the hits just keep on coming....

I'm not sure how lucky a guy can be, but Michael Scofield has now officially lived out his nine lives. He and his brother Lincoln are finally cornered by their arch nemesis Alex Mahone, and who should show up before Alex can kill the boys, the border patrol. As if that were not enough luck, the prison transfer seems set to create an inescapable situation for the boys to get boxed in and killed (although we remember the last time they were captured, they were rescued).

After debating the merits of falling for the obvious trap, the boys grab the keys to their shackles, flee the transfer van and make for the conveniently unlocked door. We know that they are being pushed into the waiting sights of Agent Kellerman. We know that the guy doing the pushing is our favorite Alex Mahone, who is not only bent on killing the brothers, but who has orders to kill Agent Kellerman.

When the boys get caught between the two, imagine my surprise when Agent Kellerman kills Agent Mahone and offers to help the boys. Not a bad resolution for a certain death trap. Even when Scofield isn't being smart, he is just plain lucky. Kellerman apparently is one of those guys that you should not shit on when he works for you. Now he's pissed. And he sees the boys as great allies in the revenge game.

At least they are not in the custody of the cops. And as long as they are free, they seem to have a chance. Hell, even when they are not free, they seem to have a chance.

TBag is still leaving behind a trail of dead bodies. He is one evil, cagey SOB. I wonder if he's going back to prison alive. I doubt it, but whatever happens, it will be colorful.

It's good that Sucre is still alive. I like the guy. As for Bellick, happy to see him get what is coming to him. And based on the size of his current cell mate, that could be plenty.

Lastly, there's Sarah. She seems lost and deperate. Hopefully, the escape of Michael and his brother will get the same news coverage as their capture, and renew her hope. Ah... Young fugitives in love... How wonderful.

Prison Break: Rendevous

What the hell is Michael smoking? We've had the relentless chase between him and Mahone, the FBI agent who is being blackmailed by the President's cronies into killing Scofield, building to a crescendo. The two of them finally have the chance to have a conversation (they met before in an elevator), and Scofield taunts him by saying, that when it comes down to it, he will always win.

Why on earth would you lay down a challenge like that? The guy already has motive to kill him. Now he wants to make it personal?

And what about Sarah Tencredi? Now that she has been caught by the one member of the death squad that doesn't really want her dead, what will happen?

Finally, Lincoln and son are with Lincoln's dad. It looks like we may get some more of the history of this thing, but my gut tells me that the dad isn't going to making many more guest appearances since we know there are death squad moles in his organization. Clearly, the girl is going to become one of Linc's allies in his flight from justice and his efforts to clear his name. Stay tuned....

Prison Break: General Comment

How smart is Michael Scofield? All I can say is that this guy should have had his own money waiting on the outside after the prison break, and not be relying completely on the DB Cooper money.

I mean think about it. He is apparently this very successful architect. We've seen the office and his residence. This guy was not living day to day. In addition, he seems to have an IQ that would make the folks at Mensa seem like the remedial class.

Why then is it not logical that in all of the meticulous planning that he did to break his brother out of jail, that he didn't arrange some cash? An ATM tied to the account of a person whose social security number he stole? An untraceable safety deposit box key with all of teh markings filed off and left with someone like the girl who brought him the fake credit card?

Moreover, when they all found the money in the basement, why not stuff a wad of bills in the pockets of each of the guys present, and plan to split the rest later? At least then, they would have some walking around money.

The above rantings aside, I like the show not just because Scofield is smart (most of the time), but because now he actually has an adversary that plays at his level. It'll be interesting to see if the blackmailed FBI agent can continue to be protected by the sonspiracy group, now that IA is noticing that the convicts aren't getting brought in, they are just getting dead.

Prison Break

Just when you think the show has run out of suprise, they pull another rabbit out of the hat, and not just one or two but several! Who would have predicted Malone and Kellerman working together? What does the government have on Malone to turn into a contract killer? Ok a quick update, I talked to TC, and he said he already figured it out, that they are blackmailing Malone to kill the escapee's. Go Tony.

Second surprise was when Sucre and Michael were working together, very nice mis direction, I didn't see that one coming.

I also liked the Dr. Chick figuring out the telephone coded messages.

For a show that is called Prison Break, they are doing a really nice job outside of prison. I guess changing the name of the show to Escape wouldn't make much sense. :)

Prison Break the season finale

Not bad for a show that all season long was about escaping from prison. I guess they finally had to escape! But what about next season? If you are out of prison, do you still call it Prison Break? What about man on the run? TC and I speculated about it, and I think the show turns into three different plot lines. The main plot line will deal with Lincoln and Michael, the second story line may deal with the other prisoners, and finally, the last plot line will deal with the new President.

Did ya like the way she grabbed power? That was a nice little surprise twist thrown in there at the end. I love the look on Admirals Helena Cain's face (who also who played an aid to our favorite president, David Palmer in the second season)

I did shed a tear at the end when the guards went to visit Dr. Sara Tancredi's home. Apparently, the morphine and drool from her mouth, plus pasty white skin means she bought the farm. Damn, I was just starting to like her too.

So, open plot lines to explore for next season: first off, the conspiracy plot line. Now that Robin Tunney knows the man Lincoln is accused of killing is alive and well what's going to happen to her? She was awesome in "The Craft" harnessing her good witch karma. The Craft also featured such lovelies as Fairuza Balk, Rachel True, and the delicious Neve Campbell.

Do you think Captain Bellick will be slightly pissed off next season?

How long will Fibonacci survive?
