LOST
That's what I call an excellent season finale, unlike "24" this one had some real nice plot twists and the story will move onto a different level next year.
Doesn't it always boil down to love? Michael will do anything for his son - and he sure did. We are exposed to Desmond and why he eventually ended up on the island, and we finally get to meet the mystery woman, Pen Widmore - multi-millionaire who has the hot's for good ole Desmond. A touching moment in the show was when Pen asked Desmond has he read the book yet we later find out she hid a love note inside of the book, professing her love, and basically stating she'll wait forever for him. Nice girl. That whole scene reminded me of Daniel Day Lewis and Madeleine Stowe in the Last of the Mohicans when they separated - Lewis says, No matter where you go, I will find you. Ahhh, true love.
Excuse my momentary lapse. There are so many plot lines and twists, I need a score card just to keep everything straight. We do find out why the plane crashed on the island, but I still don't know what the numbers mean. How many different experiments are going on at the island? Seems to me we have a Lord of the Flies with Pavlov dog and some sort of electro-magnetic experimentation. The island does have mystical powers as evidenced by Sun getting knocked up by Jin, Locke giving up his wheelchair, and the woman dying from cancer seems to be ok.
We also find out that the CIA is involved in this whole Dharma experiment, which loops us back to Sayid. Remember when Sayid was recruited by the CIA during Gulf War 1 to torture a fellow soldier? Wasn't Kate's dad a CIA operative too? Damn spooks, they are everywhere and no where.
All in all, I'd give this one a 9 out of 10. Good job!
