4400 - its back!
It's back. The show picked up right where it left off last season with a fully grown and developed Isabelle who we find out doesn't like to wear clothes. Too bad the audience wasn't privy to those scenes-oh well. Isabelle's dad is having a tough time with Lily turning into grandma Lily. I guess Lily and Isabelle are connected in such a way that as Isaballe aged from infant to adult rapidly, Lily went from MILF to grandma.
The show introduced a splinter group, or a 4400 radical group bent on imposing their will. This Nova group exacts its revenge on the group of individuals who ordered the promicin inhibitor scandal. Kinda felt like the good X men and bad X men redone. (Are we running out of possible story plots?)
My favorite slime ball is Matthew Ross. For you Deadwood fans, Garret Dillahunt played two different characters in the same show. The first character he was the drunk that shot and killed Wild Bill, and later on, he returned as Mr. Wolcott - the guy had some real issues with hookers but again I side track. Ross shows back up by slapping Isabelle and telling her basically there are special things in store for her. For you conspiratorial freaks out there, Mr. Ross seems to have a hidden plan and as the season progresses, we'll see more of it.
At the end of the show, our new radical group, the Nova group instead of raining down with destruction, they create a wheat field in the middle of the desert. Not everyone is pleased with this display of power.
For a season opener, this was done well. The writing was crisp, it introduced some nice drama, we learn of Isabelle's secret powers and more and more of the 4400 are developing their special powers as they are all off of the promicin inhibitor. I expect to see lots of parallels to the powers the X-men posses.
