Desperate Housewives: The Miracle Song

It seems that this season they are really putting the "desperate" in Desperate Housewives!
I'm not even sure where to begin... Susan is back to her wacky antics, breaking into Orson's office to look for evidence that he killed Monique. Lynette may have set a pedophile upon the world. Orson's wife Alma is alive and in some sort of conspiracy with Orson's mom. Gabi is manipulating little girls to forward her dating agenda. And on and on and on. It's exhausting.
Let's stick to the highlights. Almost as soon as Mike got arrested for the murder of Monique, Edie Britt made up a reason to break up with him. I guess we saw that coming, given the depth of Edie's character. Of course this led Susan back into the role of faithful and supportive friend, even though Mike still does not remember her. Ian's not all too happy with the idea of Susan and Mike being close pals again, especially with Edie out of the picture. He offers to pay for Mike's defense if Susan agrees to never see Mike again. We can all see that a deal like this means that we won't be seeing Ian around for too many more episodes. Especially if the writers throw in a monkey wrench and have Ian's wife come out of her coma.
While Susan's break in at Orson's lab was wacky, it did give us some more insight into Orson. Seems that Orson spent some time as a patient at a nut house. That's not terribly surprising. He did run over Mike. But in light of recent events, did he run over Mike because of jealousy issues with Monique? What was Mike's connection to Monique? Why did Mike have a wrench with Monique's blood on it? I guess we'll find out.
What ever happened to Tom's dream? I lost track after the pizza parlor thing.
And Lynnette did a good and bad thing. Seems that she accurately warned the neighbors about a potential pedophile in their neighborhood. Seems that she also contributed to the death of the pedophile's ailing sister and may have set the pedophile free to pursue his desires. On balance, I'd say that Lynnette could have handled this better.
It doesn't make sense to me that said pedophile would come up to her at the end and lay out his dastardly plan to go out and pillage. If that were the case, why draw attention to himself and create a future prosecution witness? If he was just messing with Lynnette's head, he could have done much better, since Lynnette was basically the cause of his sister's premature heart attack.
The phrase "jump the shark" is starting to seem appropriate about now. Hopefully, they can reel it in before it is too late.
