Smallville: Fallout

Now this is more like it. Smallville the way it is supposed to be.... Clark no longer fighting his destiny, Lana seeing Lex for what he really is, bad guys that are truly bad guys with serious powers and a vendetta for Kal-El, and the fortress of "knowledge" (which I guess ultimately becomes his fortress of solitude in the wake of some future event). Boo-Yah!

It's about time that Clark started his training. I understand that the writers want to stretch out Clark's time before he dons the uniform, but for crying out loud. The guy is already trying to thwart bad guys. Why not learn what abilities he might have to become really effective at it. The guy can't even fly yet, and he has known that he had the capability for some time. The writers can probably milk a whole season out of the training.

It is really too bad about Raiya. I thought they might keep her around for awhile. Perhaps use her as Clark's training instructor. But c'est la vie. It would also have been nice for Clark to learn more about Jor-El.

Either way, they've got me looking forward to the continuing saga, and perhaps have bought some time between now and the super hero tights. Fighting bad guys from teh phantom zone means that Clark doesn't have to hide his identity, which means he can continue to save the day in his conveniently blue and red colored street clothes....
