Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: B-12

Perhaps like a fine wine, this searies has gotten better with time. After a slow start, I think that the series has finally gotten its legs. This episode was all the things that I have come to expect from Aaron Sorkin. Crisp dialogue, great pace, a well developed story arc and a great new addition to the cast.
Matt and Danny have grown on me. I am starting to see a real partnership between these two. This was the episode where they seemed like genuine friends how have worked together for years.
Jordan McDeere, is great. Before tonight, she seemed almost flawlessly brilliant, but we finally see that she can also be too smart for her own good. Her dealings tonight with the reporter from the Times was beyond smug. She missed the cues from her boss and while she will likely recover, she knows that she could have handled the situation better.
The new guy in the writers room is perfect. A comedy writer who doesn't find humor in anything, but who understands what good comedy should look like. Pairing him with the two freshmen writers should work fine. One episode in and I already like the guy.
Gotta stay tuned for more. This series may have a grea second act. Now we'll see how they build an audience.
