Jericho: Rogue River

I think what I like best about this show is that while I would like to believe the premise is far fetched, the script treats the material realistically. The selection of a small town in Kansas was a critical element of the story. Here we are, a month after the bombs, and the amount of information that has come in about the rest of the world is still scarce. The government meager and the military is stretched thin (no comment on the troops that have no doubt been deployed overseas).

We learn for the first time that the remaining government has been forced to hire private security armies to help police what is left of the country, and some of those private guys seem to have cracked under the pressure of apparent Armageddon.

Jake and his brother had to go to Rogue River to get antibiotics to save their dad. While they were successful, they had a shoot out with said wacky private cops and Jake's brother left his wallet behind as a unintentional roadmap to the surviving town. Now with the country out of commission from the nuclear explosions, and Jericho no longer conducting commerce, and with no police and little transportation, what the hell was he doing carrying his wallet on him on a risky mission to another town?? What use is a wallet? This isn't bad script writing. This fits totally with the way the brother has been written.

I need to keep watching. I need to know...
* Who is still alive?
* Who set off the bombs?
* What is the government doing?
* Are other countries trying to help us?

These are among the myriad questions that will keep me coming back for awhile at least.
